In this particular case, it makes no sense. Your new device has never connected to the internet (it needs a key first), so how could it download the key from "the cloud". It you had connected it to some other access point and then taken it home, it would make sense, but if this was the very first accesss to the internet, there is no way to get the key from "the cloud".
