In this week's TR Dojo episode, I show you how to create user-specific Group Policy configurations on Windows 7 and Vista with Multiple Local Group Policy.

Available in Windows 7 and Vista, Multiple Local Group Policy allows you to create different policies for different users--a handy trick when you're trying to secure stand-alone computers used by multiple people.

Do you currently use Windows' Multiple Local Group Policy feature or would you consider using it in the future? Let me know.

Your article may need an example or two to sink in. The problem I've had in mind lately is how to configure so different users can each use their different (preferred) Internet Browsers. Is this something do-able?

The 'not configured' & 'enable' would seem to facilitate same permission. what is different benefits from either?

PC = Personal Computer

"Personal" means "mine, not yours."

Multiple users on a single machine? ROFLMFAO!

At my job we have this mulitple users share PCs nonsense. Worse, the computers are all under the control of a corporate IT department that is based 500 miles away and staffed by people who have never done the work that we do and make policies based upon what they "think" they know about our jobs and what they think we should and should not be able to do with the computers.

Share a computer that is under my control? Never!
