Am I the only one who has played it?
It's not that bad. The graphics looks like a polished Unreal 3, and I think that is what it is. Some of the jokes are honestly terrible but it's one of those things you have to expect. It's a mockery of itself. You really can't take a game like this seriously. The jokes are supposed to be bad.
Pros:
1. Fully interactive environment. You must enjoy playing with the world, there is more to it than just shooting stuff.
2. Humor. At times it is laugh out loud funny, if for no other reason than absurdity.
3. The Duke3D mechanics. It really feels like an actualization of what the first game wanted to be but didn't have the technology to pull off. If you liked the original game then you will apreciate the fact that everything from the first one is here and works in the tech glory of 2005.
4. Minigames. There are all sorts of little things that you can do and it's immersive. It doesn't cut away to the minigame, the minigame exists inside the world. Some of these concepts work really well and I see this style having an effect on future games.
Cons:
1. Not cutting edge. This could be a pro if you have an older computer. It's much like Unreal 3 with some FX added.
2. Really cheesey. You have to like thick fake cheese like velveta to get in to the trashy nature of this junk.
3. Linear. It has that stuck on a train track feel to it. This is common of story games.
