Recently deleted some registry files by mistake that were apparently needed to start up the system (thanks Revo Uninstaller). The Windows 7 Repair tool never kicked in. The PC just went directly to a blue screen on system start and did nothing else. I had to go to safe mode myself and use a restore point.
