The problem with earning the public's respect is that they often have negative preconceptions about who "you" are. Plus, you usually only get one shot in a short period of time to earn their respect. If you have the public's respect then good for you.

Can the lack of disrespect be considered respect? Just a question to consider. Sorry to hear that you don't feel the respect from your management.
