Many nations have higher murder rates, per capita, than the United States. (Murders committed with a gun or some other weapon.)

As to crime rates in general, in the United States, per capita, the crime rate falls behind countries like New Zealand, Finland, Denmark, The United Kingdom, and more. Take just a few high crime rate cities (inner-cities) out of the equation, inner-cities like Detroit, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles (and Tucson, Phoenix, and Miami with high crime rates committed by illegal immigrants) and the crime rates in the United States, per capita, would drop like a lead balloon compared to other nations.
