2741 terminal
My first experience in High School was with APL on a 2741 Terminal (galloping golf ball) and a Bell 103 Dataphone, in a 6x6 foot terminal room with one window.
The tilt/rotate bands used to break frequently, and we finally managed to convince the IBM tech to leave us a couple spares and teach us how to replace them, so we could keep the terminal up.
I still remember the number - xxx-6809 - ring - beep - push the DATA button! 300 baud! wow...
