I've seen more cases where people misuse humor than use it wisely. Again and again, I've seen employees really destroy their credibility with some totally inappropriate humor, either in person or via email.

While it's great to be considered the 'class clown', there is always the risk that the reputation and respect that takes years to gain will be lost in a few seconds.

The comedy group 'the Kids in the Hall' has a funny sketch where at an office party a guy tries to make some funny comments, and it does not go well.
