Sounds like some setting may not be configured properly. I have made numerous images with Paragon. A standard image for me is a Windows 7 Ultimate install, Microsoft Office 2007 install, Adobe Acrobat 9 install and a few other programs and utilities which typically takes only 20-30 minutes to make the image and about the same amount of time to restore the image. (I keep my data files on a separate partition.)
