You don't have a good memory, or good facts...
First off you know I'm talking about the 4A when comparing Apple II, Commodore, etc. (all in the same years 79-82). So your spin and your hex argument is wrong as I programmed in Basic on my TI 99 4/A.

Second your facts/memory are wrong about 16 colors in '79...

Next, Apple didn't make a color monitor until 1985.

Last TI didn't enter the market too late, they were the number one selling Home Computer by the end of 1982 and introduced the 4 model in the late 70's. It was 16 bit when Apple and others were only 8 bit.
...good spin though on trying to make it into a calculator when it had 38% of the home computer marketshare at it's peak. The reason why TI left the PC market is because they were making a good computer and couldn't compete on cheapness (although they tried) like Apple computers or Commodore. It was a risky time to be in the PC market and those that made the cheaper more open machines survived.

Looks more like and uses more technology that has been used in modern day computers and it wasn't just a metal frame...nice try though.
Don't try to rewrite history on great computers and great companies just to try to support an argument. Apple II was a decent computer at the time, but it wasn't as good as the TI 99 4/A from design, to internal specs, to upgrades, to peripherals to what the software could do. Just like today.
