Not updating
thejetset 14th Aug 2011
Here's a tip... don't be stupid and just update the browser! There is a reason Microsoft classifies this as an important update and it should not be ignored. If your existing web-based software doesn't work, upgrade it. There is no excuse to be using outdated technologies on your corporate infrastructure, such as IE6 or even IE8.
Until I encounter fewer sites that have not upgraded their site to be IE9 compatible, IE9 will not be loaded on any of my computers. As for your thoughts about out-of-date programs, IE6 should have been planted in its grave long ago. IE 8 is not yet 'out of date'. This TimelineX laptop was purchased three weeks ago and IE 8 is the native-installed browser. Date of manfacture for this machine was May 2011. I've encountered 23 websites that will not load under IE9 but will under IE8 and that tells me that IE 8 STILL has the legs to keep going until IE 9 reliability has improved.

i have it
PurpleSkys 14th Aug 2011
but i don't like it as much as i did 8. I liked my little google search on the right hand side...i like to be able to expand my address bar to where i like, not where i'm told it has to be....and every time i run ccleaner, i have to reorganize my favorites afterwards because it messess with them...the drop down in the address bar now only shows the last five sites i've been to, i liked it when i could see them all - i only visit about a dozen sites.

So yes, I like the old one and I don't like being told what I "have" to do when M$ is shoving it down my throat. plain

IE 9
pamelag44@... 22nd Oct 2011
My husband upgraded my computer with IE9 and I have had problems ever since he did it. It seems to lag when I am typing in websites. Has anyone had this problem and is it because of IE9? I liked IE8 and I am going to go back to using it.
