I first saw the prototype in a HP Newsletter e-mail in the fall of 2008. It went into hold for a year, and got revived because others were starting to do PAD computers or displays. But the design was still 2008'ish, it may have gotten newer cheaper chips. But still built on some thing created in the dinosaur days in computing terms. HP killed the idea by using old design technology. The must have figured we spent money once creating it, why waste money and design it again. There project board still used rules that came before the punch cards of WW II were created for computers.
