In Figure A (File -> Info) you can se the file properties. Above all the properties there is the word Properties with a drop arrow next to it. Click there. Show Document Panel. Enjoy.
Now if it could be attached to the ribbon instead of below then I would use it more often.
Well done! Thank you very much for professional templates and community edition

Just thought I would share this with everyone....
In Word 2010 I couldn't find the "Status" Doc property when trying to add it to the doc via "Insert -> Quick Parts -> Field" but then discovered that it can only be added via "Insert -> Quick Parts -> Document Property" however the menu option "Document Property" is not available (i.e. greyed out) when the doc is viewed in "compatibility mode" - To avoid compatibility mode save the file without checking the "Maintain Compatibility....." checkbox.
Be aware that there is a Status field in "Advanced Properties - Custom Properties" whcih is not the same as the Status field that you see in the Document Panel. Confusing, yes and looks like a bug to me but that's just my humble opinion

I have little patience for Microsoft and the constant imploding of their OFFICE suite. I am also sick of them messing with familiar locations for buttons and functions. You can tell no one over 25 is working on this stuff. Anyway, Office 2010, the bloated monstrosity has this dedicated page to the file tab (BAD). Now you have more clicks and someone tell me how to point to the last files I had open (recent files). I have directories on the right to search for my recent files? It use to list them right off the file drop down. So the recent file feature is now gone for me - until I find out which rock and combo of buttons to turn over.
