Those, like SinisterSlay, who take the position that "handguns should be illegal" continue to show their ignorance about the nature of crime in our country. They think that outlawing handguns would automatically make the workplace safer, and magically lower crime. Statistics, even those put out by the Brady folks, continue to show over and over that countries that have made the possession, manufacture and use of handguns illegal not only do not have a reduction in crime, but in most cases, see violent crime rise significantly. The criminals will always find a way to either get their hands on firearms, or will find other lethal methods to impose their wills on the law-abiding populace. In short, the only people that would comply with handgun prohibition laws are those that typically become the victims of the sick criminals who will always find a way to get their hands on "illegal weapons". Case in point -- those psychos who committed the North Hollywood bank robbery years ago had fully-automatic assault rifles, which have been illegal to manufacture, possess and traffic since the 1930's. Even the police in that instance did not have these "illegal weapons".
