I read all of this and my next question is...what are your suggestions for increasing speed on your computer (i.e. web surfing, running multiple applications).

Also, I encourage my XP users to dump their temp files :\Windows\Temp and c:\Documents and Settings\username.domain\Local Settings\Temp and c:\Documents and Settings\username.domain\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files to make sure their computers stay free of infection. (Most often I find that viruses hide there as well as in the System Restore Files; so I turn SR down and off.) What is your opinion on that?
