We have a system in London whereby the arrival time of the next buses (up to 10) is displayed on an LED at the bus stop. Quite useful, but budgets prevented it being deployed everywhere, and the displays are now obsolete, and the GPS positioning isn't very precise.

There is a similar system on the London Underground (subway), which is of course easier to implement; systems are also in use at major rail stations, mainly using CRT displays.
