You could replace numbers 3,4 and 5 with IrfanView and had a shorter
list to post. Make IrfanView your new number 1, with Paint.net #2...
let the others fight it out for the crumbs.
Although IrfanView is a Windows app, it should run in Wine.
You also failed to mention Gimp, multi-platform and free as well.
