The price
The problem with the Android tablets is the price. Spec for Spec they match the ipad for price, yet the android OS is not as well developed and there as not as many applications in the android store as the apple store. To compete with Apple, the android tablet manufacturers might need to drop their prices by ??100 per unit to really generate public interest and build market share as there is a massive future in tablets as home devices over pcs and laptops. The ipad is just altogether more complete as a product than any of the android tablets. When HP decided to end their foray into the field of tablets, prematurely in my opinion, and sell off the remaining stock from their production run, you could not find a touchpad for sale anywhere. I think this proved that there is a market out there waiting for these devices to become more affordable and there is an opportunity for the android tablet developers to use the opportunity to suffer a little on profit at the moment to make gains in market share.
