Windows Tablet then Apple iPad
I used to use a Windows Tablet as well. Before May 15th of this year, I would have agreed about the viability of an Apple iPad. Today, I pretty much find the iPad a real useful replacement for a notebook computer. For three weeks, I used the device as I would have used a notebook computer, and I completed a database migration during the test period. I wanted the Apple iPad to fail to meet my needs. I ended up selling the iPad to get an iPad 2 with 64 GB and WiFi only model, and I do no regret the purchase. It did make me look at what I was really looking at for my computing needs. Did I indeed make my decision based on what I needed, or was I just looking for specifications that meet something that I might need maybe 1% of the time. Of course that experience has also made me think about other decisions that I have made and if they were indeed the correct ones. I do not think that I would ever run Linux or Android as I do not want to deal with the incompatibility issues with either. In addition I have heard of too many lack of security on Android based devices to warrant staying away from them. We should all look at what I needs are and make decisions based on those needs. We should be thankful for the companies that provide those technologies to us, but not blindly obedient to their needs and not our own.
