since I started watching the *Britcoms* on National PUBLIC television. I find, though, a wide variety of dialects, some of which are virtually unintelligible to me, and apparently some other Brits.

But the variations in spelling come to mind, many of which show up often on this blog. So what's correct here is wrong across the Pond. Where's the room for standardization there?
