Keep your paragraphs short. No more than 2 to at most 4 sentences. Focus on one idea per paragraph and no more.

Tactically, simple rules of thumb help tremendously. Avoid using "be" whenever possible. Adverbs and adjectives are insidious.

Use big words judiciously to drive home an important point. Big words require extra effort to parse and understand. Don't waste that time unless it's worth it.
