There is no question that Apple makes a very good product, but as others have said, hardware, software and tech support are very expensive. I have to purchase laptops like everyone else, but, I build my own desktop machines and control the quality myself. I pick the parts and I install them. I have plenty of friends that can help me if I get into a jam making things work. I enjoy the experience anyway. These things fascinate me and I enjoy the challenge of making it all work.
