I see fsadm handles a number of file systems, but I can't seem to find any listing of file systems that can be resized when mounted. eg can vxfs or hfs be expanded on the fly?

"however, earlier file system types were not able to be resized online"

ext3 online resizing (at least for growing) has been available for quite a while now.

REHEL 4.x could resize files systems on line with ext2online (ext3) and RHEL5.x can resize with resize2fs which will also do ext4 file systems. Never heard of fsadm before because REHL teached resize2fs in their classes.
