I'm going to say it's the wrong direction. I don't think operating systems should be treated like a video game where you pump one out each year and then get people to pay for additional content.

I don't think they should have already been developing Windows 8 right after releasing Windows 7. As we saw w\ Windows Vista, they just fixed the major complains and made some tweaks and renamed it Windows 7 and it works great.
