Your article covers all the basics of this product's functions, but none of the safeguards necessary to protect your financial health and privacy when allowing a company like Google to maintain your credit and banking information. BTW, don't they still have server farms in China and India -- even after 2010's hacking scandal into Google.cn? Not having read the terms & conditions of Google Wallet, I have to ask, why on Earth would you trust your information to a firm that has resources in places that don't recognize intellectual property? Caveat emptor!!

The way this all works is it assumes your cell phone has a tiny NFC (Near Field Communications) chip inside.

If your phone does not there are several options:
* microSD card with 16GB of RAM and an NFC chip + antenna (will be available soon)
* a sticker for your phone that adapts it to NFC (limited in that your phone can not interact with it, the chip simply responds when it's near a point of sale transceiver)
