changing careers to Managed Hosting and Cloud Computing

hello , I am currently a product designer of BSS products in the data telecommunications industry and have offers for presales in the technologies - Managed Hosting , Virtualization and Cloud Computing .
My concerns are over making such a big switch so I need to understand better the future of these technologies .
While I understand it needs to be MY decision at the end , any input on what you think about such a change would be of great help
