Review: Clarizen web-based project management software

As Brad states, Clarizen has deep learning cure and is intimidating to most non technical (IT) project manager. Binfire.com has most of features Clarizen has, but using social media tool makes managing project collaborative and the learning curve much less daunting.

Our company has been using Clarizen for 18 months and having worked extensively with all aspects of the program I would have to disagree with both Brad and robinsdr. We have a team of 35 people using the tool for project management, time & expense tracking and customer billing. Our project/account managers all undertook the Introductory webinar and were up and running.

Note quite sure how Facebook makes project management easier??

Sometimes things can come down to how a program feels. We like Clarizen because it just feels easy to use, which means that it???s not intimidating and people are more inclined to use it. Having over a 100 people using it without a problem almost on a daily basis proves that point.

About your collaboration comment, collaboration is a lot more than just being able to chat and share documents. I just got a sneak peak of their next release coming out in October and it takes email and collaboration to the next level by turning email into a virtual remote control, everything you can get done when logged in, you can now do using email. To me, that is a killer app.

I've just started using Clarizen and I am not a computer, techy type person. Once you get the hang of it, it is straightforward to use. Clarizen offers webinars to help you get started - highly recommended. I'm only beginning to work out all the different things I can do with this program, but one of my favourite features is the email button, where I can email my team members from within Clarizen. I also find it very easy to collaborate. Each resource can log in, see updates and priorities and follow what other team members are doing. I would definitely recommend Clarizen's project management software. Thanks Brad for a great and helpful review.

In addition to the Competitor products listed above there are two other powerful SaaS products: LiquidPlanner and AceProject. LiquidPlanner has a unique planning engine that has best case / worst case estimation for truly realistic schedules. AceProject is the grandaddy of project manager software that has (if my memory is correct) been around since the 2001. Ace has a ton of features available that you can choose to use or ignore.

It's really great to see other posts about Binfire here! Our company manages teams of private tutors for universities and private schools across the state and we've been using Binfire for just over a year now. As robinsdr pointed out, Binfire really shines when it comes to their collaborative tools. Our favorite is their starring system which lets our teams and teammates track and follow files/tasks/etc. individually. Overall, we're sticking with Binfire because their solutions make it easiest for our remote teams to actually communicate and efficiently collaborate on projects.
