Report Offensive Message

My next language is going to be Perl. Have C++, Basic, Assembler, Pascal, Atlas, PHP, SQL. I am a network admin (Novell, MS, Linux) ( MCSE, CNE, Linux +) and have had the unfortunate title of IT Manager. Start Perl next semester. Hve been in the game for 25 years. Would there be any way I can get out of this game and still make a living? I am tired of chasing the next cert, language, etc. Doctors don't keep having to go back through medical school every 3 years to be able to practice medicine. This is insane.
