There are a lot of things, a lot of them technology based, that weren't needed or wanted, until somebody came up with the idea and/or invention, and then, everybody wanted one. Texting wasn't a killer app, until somebody thought of it and created it. GPS wasn't a killer app, until somebody took the idea and put it on a small device, and then, millions of people wanted it.
