No one has ever asked me to fix their home computer. Why? Because my world is/was not PC centric.

15 years later my wife still has not forgiven me for taking a support call just moments before the wedding began; not ours, her youngest son. She also has not forgiven me for a late Valentine's Day dinner because one of the systems was not working and it was my responsibilty to either fix it, or replace it with another then configure the new one.

I can still remember being asked to cancel vacation plans, or work on a holiday, or at night, or on weekends.

It was never my job to make myself obsolete; it was my job to make certain the end users and clients were supported and happy.
