Couldn't agree more!
I have absolutely no plans to buy a tablet or smart phone (primarily due to the cost of data plans and the devices themselves; I can get a netbook that will do more than the average tablet at about half the cost). I also have no desire to smear my fingers all over my laptop screen so I have no use for an operating system interface that encourages such things. The Metro UI is also butt-ugly. Microsoft is in such a hurry to have an OS for all of the currently popular devices that they are overlooking the people that either don't want or can't use (for whatever reason) a touch-based tablet. Traditional desktop/laptop users will wind up being the red headed stepchildren of the technology industry. Thanks alot M$!
