Were you aware that you could create a custom MMC? Now that you know how, will you take advantage of this feature?
There's a typo on the left side of this article... no, the typo is actually on the right side...

I'll ask TR to make the correction.

So he's got a right and another right, and no left. That just means he's not Communist!
Greg;
Great article. Thanks for the tip! I did not know how to do this before, and this will come in handy for me now. One question: In order to control Active Directory groups and users, I need the "Active Directory Users and Groups" snap-in, but it's not in the list I see.
Does that mean I don't have the correct permissions to have this snap-in, or is there something I can do to get it to show up on my list?

I believe you need to have the necessary feature enabled, so the snap-in's files are available -- Remote Server Administration Tools : Role Administration Tools : AD DS and AD LDS Tools : AD DS Tools : AD DS Snap-ins and Command-line Tools.
...the Active Directory Users and Groups snap-in is available as a separate download in the Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 with SP1 download that I describe in the next article: Customize MMC with the Remote Desktops Snap-in for Windows 7.

Am new in this conversation or techrepublic but am asking for your assistance. My laptop toshiba L500 cant open the webcam due to some application locking it. Is there a way i can unlock it? Have tried uninstalling it and installing new software but invain.
I'd been vaguely aware this facility was there but no-one had explained it before, so thanks.
