Dear Doctor - They allow an entire race to slowly die a painful death because it would be "interfering". What? There's a Prime Directive already?? I would have preferred if this episode showed Dr. Phlox giving the cure to the Valkians, and when they return a year later to check on their progress, they find that something terrible has happened such a war enslaving the Menk or some other disaster that showed the need for a Prime Directive. Instead, we got a literal interpretation of the Prime Directive which even Kirk or Picard would not adhere too in good conscience!
