... is probably dedicated to your video card. Many laptops often share system memory for the video card. You probably have 96 MB of RAM in the system. Best of luck with that problem, and Happy New Years to one of my favorite TechRepublic readers. :P

And my guess is that it won't take very long for the bean counters to figure out that your job can now be done by a minimum wage flunkey. Then your IT Administrator's hat will start to look a lot like burger flipper's hat and the systems administrator job that once paid reasonably well and carried some serious amount value to an organization will now fall somewhere squarely between janitor and junior stockroom clerk.

My job is more high level than that, desktop support is a distraction from my job, not the point of my job. Now, for desktop support technicians, yes, this is a bad future.
