As a business owner [not just somebody who works for or manages somebody else's business] I want a device to do work . As far as education is concerned, I have a undergrad degree in computer systems [from the late 70s] and a masters in education, but my tech experience is OLD. Of course being comfortable with technology does not hurt, but as stated in a previous post, I want my tech to work for me, not the other way around. I left IT for a reason. I would have stayed with the Blackberry platform but they did not give me what I wanted. I am the customer and I voted with my wallet. I would gladly give up all the benefits of the open-source android platform for a Blackberry with touch screen and slide-out keyboard. If the open source android OS is so great, how come there is only ONE application [CompanionLink on PC to DejaOffice on phone] that syncs directly with Outlook? And even there I have to copy my contact list on the phone to the android contact list because otherwise none of the features of the phone relating to contacts will be available [like custom ring tones for different contacts or categories of contact]. And don't even bother asking why I don't just switch to Google's calendar and contact list. It is my business. I own it. I'm the customer.
