I think it is important to remember how much an Android 4.0 (ICS) class interface was needed! I want a tablet with a quadcore processor, HDMI out and a removable data chip and a great pair of cameras!. Apple's lack of these important elements is annoying and just makes you buy their next model. The iPad 1 with no camera was a ripoff.
I would also not underestimate the negative sales impact of incredible stupidity when various tablet manufactures tied their tablet introductions to Verizon, etc.. Who wants another two year contract with those thieves? WiFI tablets are the way to go.
I think Google Docs, Amazon music cloud drive and streaming movies from Amazon & Netflix will work just fine on the kind of power tablet I crave.
Cheap Kindle Fires are great for people who don't want much but there is a high end market out there once the ICS apps begin to blossom. Many of us our just sick and tired of Apple's walled garden mentality.
