April 12-15, Cleveland, Ohio: NOTACON and PIXELJAM
http://www.notacon.org/Art, music, tech, infosec, and general geek interests in a low-key setting. Learn to solder or pick locks, or show off the skills you already have. Enjoy "powerpoint karaoke". And of course, there's Pixeljam. If you don't know the word "demoscene", go look it up!
April 27-29, Dearborn, Michigan: PENGUICON
http://penguicon.org/Sci-fi and tech collide with hilarious results. Where else can you get liquid nitrogen ice cream, cosplay, nerdcore acts, soldering workshops, and a late-night adult track, under one roof?
May 18-20, Trotwood, Ohio: DAYTON HAMVENTION:
http://www.hamvention.org/The ARRL's annual expo, tech talks, all the big vendors, and a ten-acre fleamarket. Not anything like the other cons on this list, but Hamvention is incredibly, incredibly geeky. It's just for the soldering-iron sort of geek, not the season-and-episode-quoting sort.
May 25-28, Dearborn, Michigan: WORLD STEAM EXPO
http://worldsteamexpo.com/???Retro-futuristic??? is a good explanation; Blend antique reality with imagination.
