They have not learned a thing. I do not want "e-mail setup" on my display. I want a button that takes me to my mail, with the inbox open. I do not want "messaging". In fact if I showed it to some people that I know that could be customers of such a device, some of them do not know what is meant until you show it means SMS or whatever specific application that they use.
It's the same old story, folders and files, typically a small MS Windows.
