Great looking computer, but i wonder how does it computer to my alienware M15X laptop? i am running an i7 3.2 ghz, GTX 260M, 500GB, 8 gb RAM, with the high end LCD display.
Sorry mate, I just can't see AlienWare as the quality Windows-based gaming platform manufacturer it was before its acquisition by Dell. I just couldn't bring myself to buy an AlienWare product these days, but Razer has produced some top-notch clobber in the past and I'd be fully supportive of their venture into the competitive market of gaming laptops, had I the cash to spare.
I'll definitely splash-out on their game pad though, and maybe another mouse.

I bought the 15x a couple years back and it has been a sweet machine with almost no issues. I recently upgraded to a OCX SSD - quick on and even faster.
So no, just because Dell owns it, doesn't mean it is not a great gaming notebook.

My laptop beats it and I only paid 1,300. It is only running a 555M, I have a GTX 580M in my laptop. I have proper cooling as well, my machine never runs hot. ASUS for the win!
The 256gb SSD is just stupid for a gaming machine, Games are averaging 10-20 gigs each.
It does have a nice LCD on it though.

it's an LED screen, not an LCD which means that the battery should last much longer. it's also less than an inch high when closed and weighs less than 7lbs -- not bad for a 17.3" screen.
that said, i wouldn't pay that much for it.

Gaming laptops... weight and battery life aren't that important, speed and heat management are.
Nice specs but I wonder how does it perform when going head to head with an ROG laptop.
It is laptop to consider as I want to replace my 6 year old core 2 duo laptop.
