As far as Kirk-Star Trek went, you're dead-on.

Picard-Star Trek happened during one of those periods in my life when if I was awake, I was working. I missed the first couple of seasons, and by the time I wanted to start watching, the characters were established, and you were supposed to know who was who. I gave up. I think I probably missed something special, right? I really ought to pick up the whole series on DVD some day, and get in sync. Is it available that way?

The problem is that I'm in one of those periods in my life when if I'm awake, I'm working.
