The Abrams movie is garbage outside of Urban. The plot is predictable and has no trek elements at all. They took the franchise I cherish for its deep ethical meanings, took them out, and replaced them with glorified car chases. I was always proud all of my friends never got why I loved Star Trek so much, and now they all love this simplistic reboot cuz of the fun battles and pretty colors. It's really sad.
