Sopa & pipa, power to the people
Theres a lot to write about this. Knowledge is a human right and so is the need to make a profit by creating that same knowledge. The problem here is; some people wants a piece of that pie by doing nothing (much like a bank by taking care of your money and charging you with fees and what not) So in the long run this so called "association" end up selling you a song for $0.99 and the artist or writer only received $0.30 of that song. Internet allows artist to expose their products directly to their fans, Radiohead did it five years ago and all the music in that album wasnt played in most radios or video channels.
This people runing this mafias is the 1% that the "indignados" and all protest groups talk about, cause we 99% support this bussines model. Look what Apple is doing right now with Ibooks2 an open format for electronic books is being turned into a monopoli run and executed by Apple, just cause they have the oportunity, is legal? yes. it is ethical and fair? hell no! Greed and profit that's all there is.....is a constant struggle. One step forward 2 steps back. The law of the few cannot impose to the will of the people.
