Crikey, big topic. Quality control is a big discipline.

If the application has been signed off by a customer, as it should be by this point, they are happy with the quality. It could be gold or garbage - it should not matter for the transition to operation.

Reality is a poor application can break infrastructure by tying up resources. Joined-up quality control is essential for good service.
