I've been pondering this for several weeks.
Ten or twelve years ago, I wasn't comfortable with disclosing my name. The Internet was still a relatively small place, and everybody had an alias or a handle; it was just what you did to fit in.

Lately I've been uncomfortable with the relative anonymity of a false name. I have nothing to hide, stand behind my comments, and have no problem correcting my posts when I'm proven wrong. I find I rarely use 'Palmetto' as a name anymore when creating accounts on new sites. However, my 'Palmetto' identity is well-established here and one or two other places, and I didn't want to lose my 'brand equity'.

I've decided to alter my TR username to include my name. I've had my name in my user profile for several years, and it's not like I'm the only Charlie Spencer in the phone book. But I feel it's time to push the mask up on my forehead.
