Sorry, but XP's life span makes it the best OS ever invented for the common user. I'm still getting good use out of 8, 9, and even 12 year old machines because of it. Computer hardware ought to have a life expectancy roughly equivalent to that or a typical car--around 15 years--if not that of a refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer: 20 plus years.
