You don't mention what browser you are using, but HTML5 canvas performance is drastically affected by which browser you use.

I haven't tried the game, but right now IE9 (believe it or not) has the best HTML5 frame rates (even better than Chrome). It is one of the first browsers to make use of GPU when using HTML5 canvas tech.
