Cerberus is a very effective app that I've been using with success. It does about every item listed for any application above, and more.

Missing app
sico_real 23rd Feb 2012
Those seem to be very nice apps but the feauture that I would like to have is locate and execute some remote actions no matter what SIM card is inserted. An app that after I somewhere state that my phone was stolen would allways boot the phone with the GPS and packet data on and that would periodically turn both signals on and update its location, take photo of the user when the screen Is on and some other stuffs.
Is there any app that may already be doing this?

There are some other features that I would like to have.I don't feel confortable on losing my Galaxy S2 and not being able to find it.Its expensive in Portugal!
I've got the free version of Lookout installed and SeekDroid to pickup on the features that Lookout only offers via the paid version of the app. https://seekdroid.com/v2/

I saw an item on TechRepublic about Avast; I've been experimenting with that. Does anyone here have any experience with Avast ??

Vipre Mobile

I've been using Vipre Mobile (http://www.vipremobile.com) from GFI, the same people that sell Vipre for the desktop and server world.

Has several nice features built in:
Backup (apps, contacts, data, pictures, videos, etc...)
Find misplaced phone (sends loud alarm sound)
Find lost phone (uses GPS)
Secure Remote Wipe
Monitoring (useful if you want to see what your kids are doing, or for compliance purposes in the business world today)

Exchange server support is built into most Android phones. Remote wipe is only a button push away. It also wipes automatically if the cell number changes. Not sure what happens on world phones when you swap sims.

Where's My Droid Pro also now includes wipe and lock.
According to this LA Times article
http://articles.latimes.com/2012/mar/29/business/la-fi-tech-savvy-protecting-identity-20120329

Android Phones still retain their data after being wiped. Have you looked into this? Is it older versions of Android?

Thanks

Remote wipe
Jassop 26th Aug
I have a cheap Android and I have looked for fancy security applications that offer remote wipe and they are either expensive or require a techie to config. I have just installed the Emoze application which is primarily a consolidated email product, but has remote wipe and all the advanced security features within the application. You dont not even have to register for a this and that account. You just use any of your email addresses or sms to control the device remotely.

Personal data is still recoverable after a factory reset. To perform a secure delete of your Android device use Nuke My Phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.avengermobile.nukemyphone.
