While the 10 points are worthwhile mentioned, not all points apply in each case. IT is now a vastly complex industry and all rules here don't apply uniformly. For example there are significant differences between product and services industry on a broad scale. I have seen people in product companies enjoying their regular work times, weekends, and even switch-off phones often for official purpose and still surviving in IT.
