Step 7 is debatable, some of the best techs I know are the ones who can maintain focus on a particular issue, some would consider this to be a deficiency. Most of these types tend to be your tier 3 or 4 engineers.

I would NOT count out a person for IT simply because they have a difficult time in multitasking, most analytical, linear left brain people are not good at multitasking, they tend work sequentially.
