What the author is saying is that these are factors that you should consider when looking into a career in the IT field. Though I find # 10 a bit extreme, I agree with the list. You need to have some people skills and it helps if you like technology. i don't think that the author was saying that you need to work 24 hours a day but let's be honest, part of being in this field is working non traditional hours. IT isn't the only field that is this way. Nursing jobs can have you working all kind of nutty hours including holidays.
